Bristol Stomp
My niece is going to the University of Bristol in the U.K. next year. When I heard the news, all I could think of was "The Bristol Stomp"

One year, I was given a gift certificate to brew my own beer. Part of the deal seems to be that I had to design my own beer label. I'm not much of a graphics person, here's what I managed. At least the beer was good.

This is one of my favorite live performances from the Freelance Bishops. It starts out calmly enough, but after a while, the guitarist really gets cranking ... and the crowd goes crazy. I do too. Perhaps I'm biased because the guitarist is my son, Justin, but I do think he's also gifted.

Well, here I am spending yet more time learning about social networking using the learning-by-doing method. I suppose it is a fine method, but in reality, I should be doing other things. What other things, you ask? Well, most importantly, I need to figure out how to support myself once I quit my job in a month or so. Then, this very moment, I'm supposed to be writing a letter to my elderly mother. Mom lives for Wednesdays, when she gets a letter from me in the mail. Yup, we never managed to teach Mom about computers, so she expects real letters just like her mother before her got. And her mother's mother, and so on.
Anyway, the main problem with the social networking is when I got sucked into Twitter. That has led me to Tumblr, Plurk, Linked-In, GrandCentral, del.icio.us, and most recently identi.ca. Did I miss anything? Oh yeah, Facebook, but I blame that on my niece, 'Becca. It's the Joyent crowd who got me suckered into all the rest.
Well, I should get back to my letter. So I'll leave you with a favorite picture of my dog, Brewster. Here he is on vacation, hunting frogs. We call him, Brewster, the Mighty Frog Hunter.
